OKEYWOOD Online Store
OKEYWOOD: An E-commerce Platform for Five Markets for a Wooden Décor Brand
OKEYWOOD — a brand of wooden world maps, wall décor, and personalized gifts — came to us with the task of creating an international online store that could compete not on price, but on the quality of the digital experience.
The wooden décor market is a competitive niche with large budgets from market leaders and dozens of similar offers on Etsy and Amazon. That is why the website had to do more than display products: it had to convince, guide users toward purchase, and work simultaneously for several different audiences.
The product is visually expressive and emotional, but the audience is diverse: from families decorating their homes to corporate clients who need invoices, personalization, and logo engraving.
Every decision, from the choice of interface color to the architecture of the admin panel, grew out of an analysis of the business’s real needs.
Challenge #1: How to Convey the Warmth of Natural Products Through Minimalist Design?
The client wanted a restrained black-and-white premium aesthetic. At the same time, the product — handcrafted wooden maps — has a completely different character: warmth, texture, comfort, and a strong emotional component.
The task was not simply to “make it beautiful,” but to find a balance where the minimalism of the interface strengthens the product instead of making it feel cold.
- Monochrome foundation: a white background, clear typography, and minimal decorative elements work as a neutral frame for the product.
- Focus on photography: interior photos of the products in real homes, offices, and cafés became the website’s main emotional tool.
- Before & After: an interactive slider shows how an empty wall turns into a stylish space with a wooden map.
- Every Piece Tells a Story: the gallery shows products in real interiors and allows users to purchase a specific item directly from the photo.
Challenge #2: How to Create One Website for Five Different Purchase Scenarios?
OKEYWOOD’s audience consists of several fundamentally different segments. Families want to see how the product will look at home. Gift buyers are looking for a ready-made solution without the risk of making the wrong choice. Travelers want a personalized map with their own routes. Corporate clients need documents, branding, and engraving. HoReCa businesses are looking for complete décor solutions for their spaces.
We did not reduce these scenarios to one universal user path. Instead, we built a website structure where each segment receives its own navigation logic.
- Collection system: sections such as For Home, For Business, Gifts, Sale, New, and Top quickly separate users by need.
- Our Most Loved Pieces: a homepage block helps undecided users quickly move to the most popular products.
- Custom orders: a dedicated section with a form for describing the idea, attaching a reference, selecting dimensions, materials, and budget.
- Well-structured product page: the buyer sees size, style, label language, region, backlighting, and immediately gets the current price for the selected combination.
Challenge #3: How to Prepare the Platform for Operating Across Five Markets?
International expansion is not just website translation. It involves different currencies, payment habits, logistics scenarios, and service expectations. The platform had to work equally correctly for buyers from Vinnytsia, Warsaw, Paris, or Berlin.
- Five languages: the website supports English, Ukrainian, Polish, French, and German.
- Language and currency: separate switchers were implemented for convenient work with an international audience.
- ChatGPT API integration: managers can generate product descriptions and translations directly in the admin panel.
- Payment infrastructure: the website supports online payments, installment payments for Ukrainian buyers, and international transactions.
- Logistics automation: for the Ukrainian market, the system generates waybills for Nova Poshta and Ukrposhta without manual data entry.
Result: A Platform Built for Growth
The website was developed according to the Mobile First principle and with attention to accessibility, including a version switcher for users with additional needs.
Full schema.org microdata, loading speed optimization, automatic image conversion to WebP, and a well-designed set of SEO modules create a technical foundation for organic promotion in each of the five target markets.
OKEYWOOD received not just an online showcase, but a working tool for international sales. The website is designed around real purchase scenarios, automates routine work for the team, and is ready to scale both by catalog size and by geography.
