Vinnytsia Aggregate Plant (VAP): digital transformation of an industrial giant
Vinnytsia Aggregate Plant is a legend of Ukrainian mechanical engineering with a history dating back to 1880. When a client of this scale goes online, the task goes far beyond building a website. We needed to develop a hybrid platform that simultaneously solves two strategic goals: properly presents the plant’s production capabilities to international partners (B2B) and ensures fast retail sales of spare parts to end customers (B2C).
We created a digital platform where industrial aesthetics are combined with modern e-commerce technologies based on Drupal.
Challenge #1: visualizing scale and engineering power
The main audience of the corporate part consists of large industrial enterprises and international partners. They need to see not just products, but the reliability of the manufacturer.
Our solution – industrial trust design:
– Scale infographics: the homepage features an interactive “Geography of Presence” map and blocks with key figures (145 years of history, 120+ product items). This instantly answers questions about the company’s scale.
– Production video tour: a dedicated “Production Overview” block shows the real manufacturing facilities, quality control processes, and technological level, which is critical for partnership decisions.
– Focus on history: instead of hiding the company’s heritage, we made it part of the brand, emphasizing continuity and stability.
Challenge #2: a full-featured online store with convenient search
The second important part of the platform is a modern online store. We had to ensure that users (from service centers to private customers) could quickly find and order the required component without navigating through corporate sections.
Our solution – professional navigation and catalog:
– Search by part number: considering the specifics of the industry, we implemented smart search that allows users to find hydraulic components not only by name but also by exact factory marking.
– Assistance in selection: if the user is not sure about part compatibility, we implemented a quick hints system and an “Expert Help” feedback form directly in search results, minimizing the risk of mistakes when selecting complex assemblies.
– Structured catalog: products are divided into clear engineering categories (gear pumps, hydraulic cylinders), each with dedicated filters by technical parameters (pressure, volume, piston stroke).
Challenge #3: integration with accounting systems and B2B features
The plant operates with a huge product range and different pricing policies for retail and wholesale customers.
Our solution – an automated ecosystem:
– Warehouse synchronization: the website is fully integrated with the company’s internal ERP system. Stock levels, prices, and product range are updated automatically, eliminating human error.
– Partner account: for registered partners, the system displays individual price lists and cooperation terms, turning the website into a convenient wholesale procurement portal.
Result: a modern face of Ukrainian industry
The new VAP website is an example of how heavy industry can be modern and customer-oriented. We preserved the “DNA” of a powerful plant in the design, but “under the hood” ensured the speed and convenience typical of the best e-commerce solutions. It is a tool that helps the plant scale exports and simplifies spare parts purchasing for every customer.
