Automoil Online Store
Automoil: a hybrid B2B/B2C platform for automotive chemicals with tools designed to increase average order value
The automotive chemical and detailing market is oversaturated, and customers often struggle to navigate thousands of similar products. Automoil tasked us with creating an online store that not only displays products but acts as an expert consultant, helping users choose the right car-care solutions, while also serving as a convenient purchasing tool for business clients (service stations, car washes). We developed the platform on CMS Drupal, combining a stylish dark design, fast navigation and powerful functionality for working with various audience types.
Task #1: increase average order value through “smart” bundles
In the car-care niche, products are often purchased in sets (e.g., “winter preparation” or “full wash”). Selling single bottles is inefficient.
Our solution — the “Bundles” module.
We implemented a flexible system for creating product sets.
— “Cheaper together” logic: administrators can assemble bundles from different products and assign special discounts.
— Product-page integration: if a user views an item that is part of a bundle, the system automatically suggests purchasing the entire set with savings (“Included in the bundle…”).
— Dedicated section: we created landing pages for “Bundles” and “Gift Sets” to help users quickly select ready-made solutions.
This technical solution encourages users to purchase more items per order.
Task #2: implement wholesale functionality for B2B clients
Automoil’s customers include not only private car owners but also professional detailing studios and shops that have personalized cooperation terms. Our solution — a personalized account and custom pricing.
We separated the website’s logic for retail and wholesale customers.
— Separate wholesale dashboard: after admin validation, the business client receives access to a dedicated interface.
— Dynamic pricing: once authorized, catalog prices automatically recalculate according to the client’s individual partner discount.
— Bulk ordering: the interface is optimized for quickly adding large quantities of items to the cart.
Task #3: simplify navigation within a complex assortment
An auto-chemicals catalog may contain thousands of SKUs. The main UI/UX challenge was helping the user find the necessary products within seconds.
Our solution — a tag system and fast selection.
— “Find it in a minute” block: the homepage includes a widget with quick scenarios (“Winter Preparation”, “10,000 km service”) leading to pre-filtered listings.
— Labeling system: visual markers such as must-have, pro-level, new, sale allow instant identification of professional products or bestsellers for beginners.
— Visual categories: the “Everything on the shelf” section uses large graphic elements for intuitive navigation between product groups.
Result: expert-level e-commerce
The Automoil website became a digital representation of the company’s expertise. Thanks to the well-designed bundle system, it effectively sells complementary products, while the separation of B2B and B2C functionality enables convenient service for both everyday drivers and professional automotive businesses on a single platform.
