Blisk – e-commerce solution for a cosmetics retail chain
Blisk: an e-commerce solution built into the chain’s operations
Blisk is a chain of stores selling cosmetics, perfume and household goods. Our task was to create a comprehensive e-commerce solution that works not as a separate storefront, but as another channel of the chain: with the same range, prices, promotions and loyalty program as in the stores.
The solution exchanges data with several of the client’s internal systems and handles the promotional mechanics of a retail chain. That’s why we started with detailed planning. Key scenarios, from product search to order dispatch, were described and approved before the first mockup appeared.
Online and offline stores work with the same data
Catalog, prices, stock and promotions reach the site automatically from the chain’s accounting system, and orders go back into it without manual transfer. The solution is also connected to the loyalty system, online payment with fiscal receipts and delivery services. For the business, this means online sales don’t require separate assortment management, and a launched promotion applies wherever its terms say it should.
The chain’s promotional logic – with no simplifications for online
Blisk runs many promotions of different types: discounts on a brand or category, gifts on condition, a discount on the receipt total, bonus points. Some can be combined, others are mutually exclusive. The site handles this logic correctly and shows a breakdown in the cart: which discount was applied and why.
The Blisk Club loyalty program – now online too
Sign-in and registration use a phone number. A regular customer immediately sees their points, bonuses and personal coupons, and orders placed before registration appear in their history. If a coupon applies to items in the cart, the site suggests it automatically.
Search and selection in a large range
In a catalog with many brands and categories, search plays a key role. It recognizes queries with typos and in any keyboard layout, suggests brands, categories and products, remembers previous queries and supports voice input. Filters are configured separately for each category. Items in stock, on promotion and with the BB label – the chain’s own selection – are shown first.
The product page brings together everything that helps make a decision: ingredients, directions for use, videos, products from the same line and reviews. Reviews are moderated, and purchases confirmed by order history are highlighted separately. If a product is out of stock, customers can subscribe to a back-in-stock notification.
Brand identity designed primarily for smartphones
The visual language is based on Blisk’s identity: a light base, brand shades and the flower motif from the logo running through the entire interface. The layouts were designed primarily for smartphones. The solution meets accessibility requirements: sufficient contrast, clear error messages and a separate version for people with special needs.
Result: online as part of the chain
Blisk now has an e-commerce solution that has worked as part of the chain from day one: with its range, promotions and customers. We also set up the server infrastructure and support the project after launch. The architecture is designed so the online business can keep growing without rebuilding the foundation.
